Wednesday the 1st day trip

Thinking of doing a day trip Wednesday. Not sure where yet. Cleveland National Forest if it’s not closed due to fires or maybe a desert run. Any takers and suggestions? [MENTION=176230]Audissey[/MENTION] might be in.

Might be able to swing/ sneak this in...just depends on where to determine if it would be worth it.
But who am I kidding ..Wheeling is always worth it!!

I guess the Cleveland Forest is open. So probably up there.

I'm down but I'm not sure how early I can go. I wont get home from work until about 3am but I'm really always down lol. Just text me in the morning. If I answer, we will know if I'm coming lol.

So I’m going to leave Carlsbad around 10am for the Holy Jim Trail parking area. It’s about a hour and twenty min drive. Going to take Holy Jim Trail to Main Divide Trail and go south where I’ll connect to the 74 and head home. It’s a little over 20 miles of dirt.

Hmmm, when was the last time you did that route? Im not entirely sure that route is possible, but if it is I would love to hear about it.

Haven’t. Last time I did 74 to Main Divide and came down into Silverado.
I usually go to Anza Borrego.

That route is fine. I do that all the time. Im 99.9% sure that Holy Jim Trail up to Santiago Peak is not possible anymore.

I started in Silverado and connected to Main Divide taking that south to Ortega HWY. I didn’t want to wast time on Holy Jim if it didn’t connect.
