Hello all. Wondering if anybody knows the weight limit on the swing out for CBI rear bumper. If you have the 2 Jerry cans filled with a total of 10 gallons of fuel, roughly 80 lbs. The spare tire, roughly 90 lbs. The hi-lift jack, roughly 30 lbs. Plus the weight of the swing arm itself, roughly 80 lbs. That’s about 280 lbs. right there.
Does adding my Yakima spare tire bicycle carrier and a mountain bike throw the system over the limit. The Yakima rack is about 30 lbs and the bike is about another 40.
So can the swing arm hinge handle about 350 lbs? When I’ve loaded it as such with all of the above it definitely takes a little effort to align the u-bolt and crank it closed. Maybe the better question is, can the u-bolt handle that weight?
*** Yes I’ll be calling CBI on Monday when they open — just wondering if in the meantime anybody has any thoughts on this.
