Weird drivetrain rumble, subsides in right turns

Guys I am new here. Came over from the Landrover world. Replaced my rover with an 04 4Runner.

There is this weird drivetrain rumble, gets louder with speed. Consistent coasting or under throttle. But it does subside when I turn the wheel slightly to the right.

Ideas?

I wouldn't say common. How many miles on your runner?

I would say the life expectancy (depending on rust belt location too) is 100,000mi. - 250,000mi. is about average with a few exceptions here and there.

I am going to do all the fluids in the next month or so to make sure everything is good. Also going to Lube all the zerks on the shafts. Anything else I should be aware of?

it looks like the wheel bearing is pressed and needs a 30T press to replace if I am looking at the manual correctly.

ebg18t what was the final resolution to the rumble noise?

I have a 05 Limited with 140K miles on it with the EXACT same problem. Kind of a rumble similar to snow/mud tires but subsides on right turns. Did the wheel bearings fix the problem?

Sounds exactly like wheel bearings. Mine both went out at around 150K. If you replace them yourself and want to use a press then be careful to not bend the flange. Shop here bent mine and consequentely it ruined the bearing within 10k miles.

Sorry. Never updated this. Yes I did both front wheel bearings and fixed the issue I was experiencing .
