I recently changed out my drivers door lock actuator. It had been bad for a year or so and finally got around to replacing it.
After I changed it out it would start unlocking the drivers door on its own and the beep/lights would go off like I pressed the unlock on the remote. I thought it was a bad actuator so I got another one. Now this one keeps sending what seems like an unlock signal to the car. What happens is 85-90% of the time when I turn the engine off and remove the key the beep/lights happen. I don't have to open the door just turn the engine off and remove the key.
Also, sometimes when I unlock the 4Runner with the remote and open the door it will beep/lights again. I haven't pressed the button again.
And finally, today I got out of the 4Runner and locked it with the remote as I walked away and within seconds it beeps on its own and unlocked the doors.
Has this ever happened to anyone else? It is another bad actuator? Did I install it wrong? I have replaced all 3 other doors in the past and never had an issue with them.
Thanks.
