Weird nose at start up...

I posted this in my build thread, but figured an actual thread would get more exposure. :)

I just recently starting hearing a very odd noise every time I start up my Runner. It lasts about 1 second and happens immediately after the truck turns over. It almost sounds like a squeaky belt or something but I know it can't be because I just had all the belts replaced in July...

It's coming from the passenger side. If I release the key fast enough after the truck turns over, it won't make the sound. It only makes this sound occasionally, particularly after it hasn't been started for a while (say, overnight).

Is it a starter issue? If so am I screwed? Keep in mind I'm 1,000 miles from home and just started college and have no money. :crybaby:

Thanks guys. :D

well your not screwed, you have plenty of us t4r guys up here in the portland area, we wont leave you dead in the water(unless we all want your truck to part it out for our trucks, then yes we will savagely beat you and leave you for the beavers to eat...) it could be a starter, but i honestly dont know much about starters so, but im still thinking its more of like a belt issue, say some water on the belts or the AC pump, like a bearing starting to make noise ect.

Never say "I know it can't be that"....lol. My truck had brand new belts on it, but the shop that put them on didn't tighten stuff down enough. I took it to my dealership, and they inspected and tightened them all for free. All squealy sounds gone.

Possible. I've probably driven about 5,000 miles since the belts were changed. They possibly could've came loose?

I went out to make a video this morning of the sound and of course it didn't make it....

This was after it had been sitting since 8PM last night and it was cool and rainy all night. I don't get it!

Well as soon as I pulled them out and cleaned everything down there, it stopped making the noise. The belts aren't loose, Isaac (member "the kid") and I checked them last week, they're fine.
