Weird Parking Brake Light...

This isn't really a problem, I just thought it was kind of weird and wanted to know if anybody else has experienced it. I drive a manual transmission, '93 t4r, with 250k miles. It has just started to illuminate the Parking Brake Light when the engine is cold and I'm shifting between lower gears (i.e. 1st to 2nd, or 2nd to 3rd...). What could this be?

the brake switch could be fatigued and your handle is moving just slightly thus causing the light to illuminate i only offer this because you say it happens in the lower gears and those shifts are usually more aggressive than 4th or 5th does it happen downshifting as well?

mine also does this, and it does it almost immediately if I push the cig lighter in and goes off when i pull it out.

Any chance brake reservoir is low? I had the same symptoms, except only when I took right hand turns and the body would list. You may be experiencing it front to back when shifting. I never would have thought that would have been the problem, and still can't believe I didn't think to check there first.
