Weird Problem: Volume control not working. Help!

hey guys,

so I replaced my '05 JBL 6 disc headunit with an 06-09 JBL 6 disc unit a few months ago because the cd-changer on the old unit was gone. This morning I got in my car and the volume control knob wouldn't change the volume anymore??? The knob works to turn the radio on and off and all the other buttons work, including the controls on the steering wheel (except the volume controls). Any thoughts on what's happening here? Any help is greatly appreciated, I'm a college student and am running low on funds right now so I'm really hoping I don't have to shell out a few hundred for a new head unit :cry2:

I have had some of the same issues with my Alpine head unit. Just like computers, head units can freeze up. Turning off the unit and turning it back on has worked for me. A few times I had to turn the whole truck off and restart it.

I notice that when mine gets really hot in the summer this same thing happens. Usually I can just turn it off and then back on and all is good.
