Weird rubbing?

To all - I know this topic has been covered, but I cannot find this specific issue.

1999 SR5
Rear - OME 906/Bilstein 5100
Front - Tundra/Bilstein 5100 on lowest perch
According to T4R members, this should give me approximately 2" of lift

After getting the truck aligned yesterday, I put on my new Goodyear Duratrac 265/75/16 tires on factory 5 spoke rims. I noticed that the driver's side front fender looked a little closer to the tire than the passenger side. I chalked it up to my point of view and took it for a drive. It rubs on right turns on that fender, but not on left turns.

I had assumed that a slight bit of rubbing may occur, but only on one side?

Any ideas why this might be?

They screwed up your alignment. Are your skid plates on? If not, look at your LCA cams and their position. They should be close to mirror images of each other. (LF to RF and LR to RR). The side where it looks closer to the fender has longer caster. The driver's side actually should have slightly shorter caster to account for road crown. Imagine longer caster like a motorcycle chopper and shorter caster like a shopping cart wheel. Does your truck pull to the right?

That's what I was afraid of happening.

It actually felt like it pulled a little to the left after the alignment.

My skids are not off, but I did look at the caster bolts when putting the wheels back on yesterday. I recently prepped and painted the frame with POR15 and painted over those bolts because they were pretty rusty. It looks as though they may not have been touched since the paint seemed unbroken. I told the alignment shop that I had changed shocks and springs and maybe they thought only the camber needed to be adjusted?

Does the addition of the larger tire size make a difference to the alignment? I'm going to call the shop back and ask them to re-do the alignment, but I don't want them trying to charge me again since I changed tire size since the first one.

You should of gotten a spec sheet printed out which will tell where the issue is. If for some reason you don't have the spec sheet, call them saying it pulls and you want it realigned. Tires won't make a difference, if you change the ride height at all (plausible since you changed shocks/springs you said) then the alignment can get jacked. If they didn't touch the cams they weren't able to adjust camber or caster, sounds like they only adjusted toe (tie rods) and did a shitty job at that too. Make sure you get a print out next time.

Thanks for your advice. I didn't get a print-out (they said that you have to ask for it?), but I did take it back to the shop that did the alignment. He took me back to the truck up on the rack and all readings were within spec. I showed him the rub spot and he asked if I had any front end damage ever. It then clicked that someone had backed into my bumper corner and had probably moved that fender back an inch or so. Doh.

Thanks again for the advice. Now to tackle that occasional front end vibration/shaking.
