Still on the hunt for a new 3rd Gen, came across another nice one locally that has a lot of potential but has a weird VSC/TRAC issue. It is an '01 w/94k miles and upsized FJ cruiser wheels. Truck drove fine except for when I put it into 4-HI. On a straight, dry road, when accelerating from a stop I would get the flashing slip indicator and it would cut the throttle for a second. It seemed to do this consistently every time I would stop, once back in 2WD the issue went away. Sensor issue? Need to do a zero-point calibration? Run away?
I also noticed the transfer case was a little wet, on my GX this was an actuator seal that required TC removal and disassembly, common issue with these multi-mode trucks?
