I'm interested in purchasing some sliders for my 4runner, I'm an avid offroader, but as this truck is also my DD, I'm concered about frame integrety as far as rust in concerned. I have an 84 PU as a farmtruck/beater with a bad case of body rot even though I live in salt free south louisiana. After my roomate and fellow offroader had his sliders welded on I was concerned about the bear metal between the slider mount and the frame. Should this be a cause for concern? Or would welding all the way around the mount discourage rust from taking hold between the two pieces of metal? Perhaps I'm being paranoid, but I don't want to loose another Toyota due to rust. Especially one as cherry as my 4runner.

Just grind enough for your plate. Do a full weld all around the plate.
No water can get to the in between spot.
Just do a good prime n paint to seal.

I mean WTF? They seem to be quality sliders and they offer DOM or HBEW or some 4letter abbreviation I can remember. But the DOM is best right?
Before I order from them I just need to measure distance between my front mudflap and the rear fender, it's a 3rd gen SR5 with the skinny black flares, that I would like to keep intact without cutting either the front or back.

Exactly, measure your distance and they will let you know what size they make that comes close. I myself have the Dom grade and I even put a slight dent on the kick out. Slammed a boulder.
I have the longest they make for my gen4, also left the flaps on front/rear.
Also had the attaching pipes made a little longer for my preference of positioning to outer edge of tire with a slight upward angle.
Just call them, great company to deal with.
