Weld Your Own Bumper Kits?

Weld Your Own Bumper Kits or Plans?

I am hoping to find a weld your own bumper kit online but am not having very much luck. I found one at NWTRAILINNOVATIONS but that's it. Not sure if there are anymore but I would think that there are. If not, I will settle for a comprehensive plan with measurements for a custom front bumper. I have been wanting a new bumper for a while but just can't justify that $1000-$1300. This will save me a lot of time spent on trial and error.

I appreciate any help ahead of time.

I'm also hoping to start on skid plates soon so if you know of any plans for those, let me know.

The Northwest Trail Innovations kit is great, we did one on my Dad's tacoma that should be about the same process as the 4th gen one, the way the frame's setup makes it very easy to build off of. Also has some adjustability in it as you're putting the piece together so you can set it up on the vehicle just how you like it.

Check out this guys custom tube bumper. It's pretty bad ass, I found him off of instagram and it doesn't look too hard to replicate. Not sure if he's a member on here but here's the link.

thats my buddy justin. hes sold that expanded metal tube bumper and has now built a plate tube hybrid style. its pretty straight forward and required no bends to build it. i think hes still willing to build for others but im not too sure as of right now.

Do you know of anyone who's purchased this kit yet?

I purchased this kit a while back from Relentless. I was hoping to already have it completed but UPS managed to completely shred the box and lose just about everything but the center section. Unfortunately, it's tied up in a damaged/lost claims case that they don't want to admit fault in. This reminds me that I need to call and cuss someone else out today.

I did see the center section in person and the build quality looks great. It didn't really receive any damage other than some scratches so I believe it to be pretty stout compared to how the rest of the box looked.

I'm hoping that I can eventually get my hands on another DIY kit from Relentless. I was really hoping to have this bumper completed in time for the FJ summit but I don't think it's going to happen now.

That's a let down man! Did you get a refund or solve it out with relentless fab? How long did it take to come in? I expect the shipping time to be less than like a shrockworks or demello bumper since it's a DIY kit.

If you somehow wind up with an extra center section, I'd be interested in buying it.

Got a quote from a buddy for 150$, to make me a rear bumper out of 6 inch tall angle iron, Capped on the ends with reinforcement the rear bumper frame, just gonna cut the plastic off straight under the liftgate and have it there, ill post a mock up soon, not going on the sides of the back yet, we'll add that later

If you can get your hands one of his bumpers or can make one like his, I would so buy it. I see that you're in Texas, I would have no problem driving up to the Dallas area to get one of those bumpers.

Yeah, it was a bummer because the bumper came in pretty quick, well some of it. It looks like Relentless will get paid by UPS then Relentless will send me a new bumper. If I remember right shipping time was only about 2-3 weeks. Honestly, it went by pretty quick. I think it's now been tied up in damage claims longer than it took to show up. UPS has made both Relentless and myself jump through some hoops to get this resolved. Hopefully, this nightmare is almost over.

No chance. The remaining pieces were finally shipped back to Relentless and were scrapped due to the damages. Honestly, I was hoping to end up with it to build a second bumper to sell.
