Looks like my oil may be contaminated with some good ole coolant.

What brand of oil are you using? That does not look like coolant, that looks like crap quality oil foam.

First time run on penz platinum, for the high detergent content... Wanted to clean out sludge or attempt to.

I can see dark oil where the foam is opened up, I'm pretty darn sure you don't have any coolant in it.

Looks like the product of running the PZ oil and it would seam you drained it right after it was running.

I think you may be right... Was my initial impression, the consistency of the oil was near sludge, at the beginning of the flow. I have just never seen this before.

Lost coolant in the reservoir. No overheating issues.

How much did you lose? I'm with Toy2G, I'm not convinced. The oil itself looks like oil, if you'd lost a bunch of coolant into there I'd expect it to be milkier.

Run down to the autoparts store and get one of those kits that tests the coolant for exhaust particles. Those things are supposed to be 100% reliable.

One thing to keep in mind, detergent oils are exactly that, and they do tend to foam a little more (the reason you use non-detergent in race engine breakin). But, moisture in the oil will cause excessive foaming also, and it could be a sign of a leaking head gasket long before it gets bad enough to actually turn to peanut butter.

This is a good idea, even just for peace of mind.

As of right now, I'm sure you are just seeing foam, not coolant.

Thanks guys. I feel 100% better.

I'm all game for a 3.4 swap. But I would like to get as much life as I can out of this V6 turd... I did think to get a test kit, but the car quest I went to didn't have any in stock.

I don't have any corrosion at the fill cap, although there was a lot of "sludge" caked on the inside of the valve cover and the cap.
