Well, I did it...Gen 3 to Gen 4
I traded in my Gen 3 and picked up a 2006 Limited V8 with Navigation with 73K miles.
I do like it, but really miss my 01'. I think I'll like it more once I change a few things and make it "mine".
And yes, we now have (nearly) twins in the house now. Looks kinda dumb when we're parked//home together otherwise, it doesn't bother me.
As for my old Runner, I really do miss it. It wasn't perfect, wasn't fast, but it was cool and fun to drive. I traded it in with 196,750 miles on it. When the sales manager test drove it for the trade in, he kept going around and around the lot and I thought he was going to try and nickle and dime me on it.
Turns out, he was impressed with the condition and how well it drove.
I really hadn't gone in thinking I was going to get rid of it, but when they gave me what they did and came down on the 06', I couldn't say no.
Now, onto modding the 06'.
I already dropped the running boards
Thinking a small lift//leveling kit
Magnaflow muffler
Ditch the running marker lights
All new fluids//filters//lube
Oh well, here are a few(crappy) obligatory pictures.
