Hi all, new here
I have been a "car guy" all my life. Recently my beloved Honda Civic died (well enough for me to give up on it), and I was all over the place with what to get.
I will be spending my winter this year up in northern Ontario where the snow is plenty and the roads are shit. With this coming up soon I decided to look into suv's to deal with the snow and make things a bit more comfortable up there.
With a bit of an open ended budget, I was looking all over the place, new and old, expensive and cheap beaters. All makes and models. Ultimately deciding i liked 4runners 3rd and 4th gen. Looking all over and test driving a few 4th gen.
Out of nowhere I found a decently priced 2000 4Runner limited with lower kms and a decent price tag. I went to check it out and it seemed decent. Having always been the timid over thinking type. I said screw it. Bought it there and then and I am now proud to introduce my new baby.
Keeping in mind i know NOTHING about offroading 4x4ing or anything of the sort. I have been and will continue to be, searching through all of the older posts trying to learn as much as I can about my new baby. I will try to not post questions hundreds of people have asked before!! She probably wont see much "offroad" time, but you never know, i could get the bug and dive head first into a new hobby.
2000 4Runner limited 4x4. with 176 500 kms (109672 miles ) It is a bit higher now, my commute lately is massive. It has an elocker i believe based upon the button on the dash
Future plans include... who knows.
1. Definitely some winter tires or something a bit better than what is on it.
2. a head unit with aux and usb inputs
3. removal of the running boards seems to make it look pretty sharp
4. minor lift? perhaps?
I have already learned so much from this message board. And i must say, it is one of the nicer boards i have seen!
