Well this is FFFFF cute.

This is a Rocar rear upper control arm, supposed to fit my 96 4runner, next to the arm that I just pulled out of said 96 4runner.

I'm sitting here in the damned middle of the night with my truck all apart in the driveway debating trying to put them in anyway. I have both sides, so it'll rotate the top of the axle forward, but at least it'll do it the same on both sides, and it'll only be a little off. But I'm worried about the shock mounts. Any change in the tilt of the axle at all will turn the shock mount pegs off from being perfectly perpendicular to the shocks.

Well they went in more or less ok.

The shock mount pegs are off angle slightly as I expected, but looks like it might not be a problem at least for a short while.

I think I still better find correct arms sooner rather than later.

The 2wd rear uca is about a .5" shorter then the 4wd uca. I'm assuming you have a 4wd because the shorter (newer looking) one you have in the pic looks like a 2wd uca compared to the longer one in the pic.

Yes, the real issue is pinion angle!

Yep. My fault. Taking a closer look at my receipt, the part description says RWD. And it said so in the ebay ad too. So, this one's all mine.

On the hunt for proper arms now. Or maybe I'll put my old ones back in and have these converted to adjustable. I doubt I'd be able to sell them or return them. I dirtied them up installing them and who even has a 2wd 3rd gen 4runner?

I used to... and didn't know to change the upper arms. So this thread what super helpful to me. Thinking about it now, it makes sense (pinion should be flat on the 2WD driveshaft, as it has two regular u-joints. on 4WD, it should be parallel with the shaft due to the front double-cardan/CV).

Luckily, the parts truck isn't gone, so I can go grab those parts!
