While I was taking my intake off to get to the MAF and throttle body for a much needed cleaning, the rubber hose that connects to the throttle body ripped a little. I guess 12 years in the dry hot AZ weather finally did it in. I was able to patch it with some high temp silicone as temporary solution till I get a new intake, or replace the torn hose.

So I come to you guys to help me decide on what to get.

Which aftermarket intakes are worth getting and wont change the maf scaling at all? Meaning that it keeps the same inner diameter of the factory maf housing.

Or, I wouldn't mind keeping the factory intake as I was planning on modding it anyway. I would just need to place the that section of the intake. If anyone has one that they would like to sell, completely stock or already with the giant silencer removed I would happily buy it from you :).

I think in the picture below it should be part number 8, that connects to the throttle body.

dims of pipe
Length - 5.625"
Diameter - ID - 2.5"
Diameter - OD - 2.625" ~ 2.75” (Larger than 2.75” OD will be a tight squeeze.)
Pipe is 14G Mild Steel.

¼” Plastic Tee and about a foot of 7/32” hose. I cut a short piece about 2” long to
attach the Tee to the nipple on the plenum.
I attached the hose that was formerly on the plenum to the right side of the Tee and attached a 6”
piece of 7/32”
hose to the left side of the Tee and the other end of it to the FPR Tubing that runs under the
plenum to the FPR.

about $30 in parts and works fine, it's a little different on the pre-99 motors. way better than the $120 airraid tube
Intake Silencer Removal Mod - 3rd Gen 4Runner (2000) - YotaTech Forums

I'm all for the ISR mod, but my main concern here is the part that connects to the thorttle body has a crack in it, so I need a new hose to begin with.

Does the ISR mod actually make a difference? Has anyone Dino'd it to see how much it really makes?

i think some one did on yotatech they compared the isr mod and..i want to saw elbow mod vs a CAI and the CAI got it's butt kicked if i remember correctly, the CAI actually produced less power....but i'm speaking from memory, might as well be speaking from my butt, in that case, lol
