Went To The Dealership Today To Browse

I wanted to take a peek at the 2011 4runner. They had two in the lot, SR5 and Limited. Both were nice trucks but a lot smaller interior than what the pics make them out to be. I also sat in a 4th gen. Now I have nothing against the 4th gens, I love the look, but in my opinion I thought the seats were made way to low. I feel taller in my 3rd gen than in the 4th. Now I know the 3rd gen being smaller overall makes me feel taller in it but I was kinda disappointed. I always thought they were much bigger. Overall I still love the 4th and 5th gens! I want a 5th gen for my next runner when mine goes, which will be in a very long time.

Not a fan of how the engine in the 5th gen needs to reach 4000 RPMs + to achieve maximum torque nor those tall skinny wheels on the Limited. Toyota using a chain instead of a belt in the V6 was not the best idea. The engine is not as smooth. I want to see how many of those V6s reach 200,000+ miles.

With that said, it still is a 4runner so I would own one. I like the Trail Edition with KDSS in blue. I really wonder if there will be a 6th generation in the future?

I've checked out the 5th gen and I love it. I've only been inside the SR5 and Limited and have seen the TE on the road. I'd like to retire my 3rd gen as a daily driver and lock the front and rears and trailer it behind a 5th gen.

I woul get an fj over a 5th gen. The new ones are too big and boxy IMO

I honestly think that even thought Toyota claims to be staying with their roots with the 4runner, its becoming more of a daily driver. I can see how they did keep a lot of what other companies are dropping for these crossovers but I don't think its as rugged as it could be. I love them cause they are 4runners and the KDSS is pretty sweet but it could be more rugged.
