Wet Roof

Hello
I noticed to day that the passenger side roof was wet today after a few days of rain. I do have a sunroof and the drains within the sunroof are not blocked, I was wondering if this has happen to anyone else and what was the issue that caused it? My 4R is a 2008 Sport.

thx

you say the drains were not plugged up, is that from checking both ends of the tubes? I just dismantled the entire interior of my 98 limited in order to sound proof and reupholster the cabin and odd thing was that I found the rear driver-side drain tube kinked upward not allowing the water to drain down into the wheel well, crazy.... the whole tube was backed up with water, nasty black sludge water....anyways might be something to check out if you have not already.... first thing I would look at is the seals around the sunroof, make sure its sealed tight

I tested both end by pouring water in the drain and verify that it would come out of the wheel well for both drains.

thx

the roof was wet after rain?

You mean the inside headliner was wet ?

of course the roof -being the outside of the vehicle- would be wet after rain

I am not grasping something here....

so is it still tilt and slide both

Well you say the drains are not plugged so water had to have come from the sunroof being partially open perhaps.(?)

If it is like the 3rd gens it tilts up at the back and upon closing the back it will then allow you to slide it open from front to back... is this still the way the 4th gens sunroof operates?

Don't read too much into it, I am guessing (only) that it was left slightly open and you thought it was closed .....why it would all be on the passenger side I don't know, was it level and parked the whole time?

The best way to be sure you really have a leak of some sort is to have one person run a hose outside on the roof and you watch the sunroof and headliner for appearance of water.

I hope this seems somewhat logical and please let us all know what you find out. Still under warranty right? make them figure it out....
