I just traded a few firearms for a very nice 97' 4Runner 4cylinder 5speed, it's my first 4Runner. I was looking for an older toyota truck but I just couldn't pass this deal up. I am buying it from it's orignal owner with no wife or kids. It looks new but it does have a blown head gasket. I will be installing a "0" mile rebuilt motor with a brand new head, new clutch and have the tranny serviced while the motor is out.
Oh, my bone head move, I set the keys inside on the seat and hooked up the battery and all the doors locked!:ybrick: I only have one set of keys! I will go to the dealer and have a key made with the VIN number.
My question; Is there any other things I should do to it while the work is being done?
One of my high school friends owns a shop and will be doing the work. He will be charging me $2200- $2400 for all the work mentioned. I will have about $2800 in the 4Runner when it's done.
