What advantage of Wheel Spacers

I have had Spidertrax spacers (285 GY Dura's,) on for years and never a problem on road or off road. If you can buy new wheels go for it but personally I didn't cause I'd end up scratching them up going rock crawling and getting a lil pissed.

On another note, your pic is great but I don't recommend that again since I did the same ONCE :toilet3:and hurt a bit cause had to do a little extra work when I got home BUT A GREAT shot!!!

The main reason for me is to clear the UCA because without them my tires would Rub. Second I think it gives it a more aggressive stance and less of a soccer mom look. Yes I could get different wheels and I plan to but not everyone want's to go that route. There's numerous things people shouldn't necessarily do but if you follow the safety procedures you'll be fine. Three 4runners with spacers and no problems ever.

The risk outweighs any kind of benefit. The best you can hope for with them is not to have a problem. You drastically increase the chances of a wheel falling off along with a host of ride control problems. I know in Virginia, you won’t pass safety inspection if they see them. Bolt on adapters are a different story.

What part of VA do you live in? First I heard of this. I ran spacers for years and never had an issue passing inspection when living in Fairfax County. And I always went to a different station every year.

The rule is the same in all of Virginia. Unless you can show that your spacers are DOT approved, they are not legal. Some places will let you take them off for inspection, but if you rub, you still won't pass. Obviously it is subject to the inspector and in FFx most are from 3rd world countries and don't know what spacers are to begin with.
