What aftermarket head unit did you install

I've been wanting to do a lower end pioneer with apple carplay but with chip shortages every time I feel like pulling the trigger nobody has anything available. I already put Infinity speakers in all the stock locations and have a powered sub in the back. Which made a huge difference but I never liked the stock head unit.

I like the looks of that. Not a horrible price point either considering all the stuff you have to get to install an aftermarket unit.

How are the car sensor features? Tpms? Read/clear codes? Sense open doors? Interior/exterior temp? Can you set it to always display current speed limit signs without running a maps app?

My Kenwood DMX does all that plus sooo much more. Its truly amazing with the maestro data link.

It can read and clear codes, give PSI and tire/intake/exhaust temp. I also have front and rear cameras for it. No CD player though. lol

The Alpine Halos and the higher end Pioneers can enable settings access, not sure about monitoring though.

I just installed a tablet that is connected to stock unit through BT. Can use for OBD2 scanner, navigation, music, and a bunch of other things.

Just installed the system including Maestro Rr2, (with wire harnesses: HRT01, KEN1) and a BOYO bu camera all from crutchfield.

Running the backup camera cabling from the rear hatch up to the head unit was the worst part of the install. The door panel removal tools ($10 from Amazon) totally paid for themselves.

The finished system is really nice. Sounds better than original and uses the factory amp. The 10 inch display is so nice and doesn't block the vents that much.

Only problem is after 1 week, the backup camera seems to have died. Crutchfield tech support has been very good (not perfect, but really good) and they have a new camera on its way. Goody, I get to tear apart the rear hatch again .

Overall, I'm happy with my choice. Will post again if the rear camera ordeal changes my mind

Installed an Entune 3.0 from a 2022 Salvage. No regrets. Works perfectly and looks natural.

I have a 2017. Replaced the head unit with the Dasaita - nice looking unit but started glitching after about two years. It would not pair on start-up. Had to shut down the truck and restart. I emailed Dasaita and they sent soft ware updates and instructions (helpful), but after a couple months - same problem. It was out of warranty so I took a chance and got the Hamilton premium unit - looks like the 2025 with big screen (nice for my old eyes). I installed it - had one glitch (iphone setting "somewhere". Tech support was great (and in the USA). Unit has a three year warranty. Working well so far.

I installed the Dasaita G13 head unit in my 2011 TE with Nav and JBL. Definitely not an audio improvement, actually an audio downgrade if you ask me and I'm not a huge audio guy.

However its a HUGE upgrade for everything else.
