What Aftermarket Parts I need to buy for my 02 Sport?

I just bought an 02 sport 4X4. what aftermarket parts have you guys/gals used to help your 4Runner's performance and gas mileage, any bolt on recommendations??

Performance, as in power mods? Do a deck plate mod, if you want. Minimal gains, but very cheap. Only real noticable mod is a supercharger. Don't waste your money on intakes, headers, exhausts, The Tornado, etc.

And no matter what you do for gas mileage enhancements, you will not see over 23MPG.

Maybe just a better sound and gas mileage. I do some off roading but not much. I hunt all winter long. I was looking for some bolt on's that would improve performance and mileage without spending a fortune.

Mike, unfortunately, you're gonna have to spend a fortune if you want any real performance gains...and that would be in the form of a supercharger. There are no "bolt on" upgrades offered that are going to dramatically net you any real performance gains.

As far as improving mpgs...well the 4Runner is an SUV. Therefore, you're not going to see any real large gains in this mpgs either with bolt on upgrades. Just make sure your truck is up to date on maintenance and drive conseratively if you want higher mpgs.

As far as improving the "sound", look into Magnaflow &/or Flowmaster mufflers. Maybe some one with more experience with mufflers can give you some specific advice. I am a bit out of the loop on mufflers.

predatorsniper1, just be glad that the 4Runner does get over 20MPG (highway). I can't think of another SUV that gets even close to that figure (that is as capable as the 4Runner--we're not talking "SUV"s, as in CX7's, RDX's, RAV4's, etc. Those are just lifted mini vans.). I had a Jeep Grand Cherokee and it got 16MPG on the highway. My friends' Jeeps all get 14-16MPG. Yukons....I won't even go into. Xterra's might be the only other SUV that might be in the same range, but that's about it.

I went with(for sound) the orig TRD exhaust... i actually had 2 of them the first one rusted and so Toyo had an inspector come to the dealer.He blessed my truk that it should not have rusted so they replaced it free of charge.
I like the sound not earth shattering but a nice throaty sound.

try here for alot of sound clips. i got my flowmaster at my local muffler shop. always remeber what someone else likes you might not like so listen to all the clips and find something that is right for you

not really sure, i think they would be different? and they should make the borla. all the muffler shop does it replace your old factory muffler with the newer one, then run new pipping if you wish. my system cost me 210 if i remember right
