What amp do you have under the seats in your 3rd Gen 4runner?

I need to mount my amps under my front seats but I'm not sure what will fit. I'd like a couple amps, a 4x40 watts and a 1x 150 watts. I'm flexible on those figures.

Please post the make & model # of the amp you put under the seat and if it was the drivers or passenger seat. I've gotta figure out what amps to buy! Old school is kool.

I used to have a JL Slash 4 channel something or other under my 97's front seat, but now I would suggest an Alpine PDX 5. It will do what you want in a tiny space (75watts x 4 & 150watts x 1). I know for sure it can operate in small spaces, I have 2 similar amps hidden with zero air-flow and they work well under the conditions.

when i owned a 96 base, i had a jl audio 300/4 under the driver seat. fits perfectly and its hidden. that is with the controls, wires all pointed to the front of the car and the heatsink pointing back.

I'm loving the JL Audio XD600/5. Super tiny. 75x4 + 200x1.
A little out of my budget though. I'm keeping an eye on the classifieds for it.

I have an amp under each front seat: Eclipse EA3422 for running my front speakers and rears and Eclipse XA1000 for my subs. I have plenty of room under both of my front seats, however I don't have the fan thing under my passenger seat like some 4Runners have.

If you are needing an amp for subs, the Eclipse amp I have is awesome...I bought it last year and it was new in the box if you are interested I will make a deal for you...I am taking my subs out for more room for my dogs!!

I have a Cap too that I haven't used...although I bought it used.

What sort of noise problems? I have not researched Class D amps other than to view sizes.

Thanks, but because I only have one seat spot available for amp space, the amp must be multi-channel. I'm sure someone else might be interested though. It looks like a nice amp.

I know someone will say to put the amp on the sub box, or in the back of the SUV, or in the compartment in the back right corner.... but how I want it to be is how I want it to be.
I'll definitely go with the JL Audio 600/5 or 600/6 amp if I have to. I'm just hoping to find something more $$$ reasonable.

I use my cargo area frequently enough to not want anything permanently mounted. My rear seats spend about 5% of the time laid down.

My sub box will have a single quick-release Speakon cable connector. So I can quickly/easily remove my sub box.

Any reason not to mount the amp on the box and disconnect the amp from the line level amp inputs? (Edit: Yes, also need power disconnect!) I ask because I may finally be in a position to get a little help for my stock speakers with basic aftermarket CD player. Not talking much, just a couple of 8s in a small box (~ 3cu ft total) to get bass similar to decent stock systems in vehicles with trunks. I need to refresh my memory on techniques and see what's changed. I had a DOS based box sizer last time I did this!

I am thinking a skinny box to velcro to my seats (this to minimize cargo space reduction) with the amp mounted on the box in a semi-protected location.
