What are the top TE Tire Recommendations

Staying with the standard rim size, what do you like, and why? I know many like the BFG 275-70-R17 AT TA KO's, but I've also heard good things about Revo's and especially the Michelin LTX A/T2.
BTW, I do still value a quiet ride! :nerd:

Here is my guesstimate: 40% road, 30% City 30% offroad. I know there are always compromises.

I have the LTX A/T2 in stock size on my TE and they are very quiet. Good grip in the dirt. I think they are a good compromise AT tire. BTW, I am running the E load (10 ply) version at 47psi.

This is not the answer you are looking for owning a TE, but just as a reference, I just swapped out my Dunlap's OEM Passenger tires for Michelin LTX- MS2 285/70/17 (8 ply's) on my Sr5, what a difference! Both in looks and performance. I really had a problem with those Dunlap's, 4 ply passenger tires on an almost 5K pound truck, it was just not right. Much better ride now. Tighter, better control, braking and not feeling like the tire is going to fold under the rim of the wheel when cornering. I went to Discount Tires and the Asst. Mgr was great. He called the Dunlop office and discussed my issues, Dunlap authorized a refund of 160.00 per tire! This, with 1650.00 miles on the tires! I can't complain about anything here, got top of the line Michelin's at less then half the cost. (428.00). So, whatever you are going to get, make sure you check around....deals are out there.

Not a daily driver, so get's little use overall, and I may have over weighted O/R useage. That said, I'm really O/R challenged and would not be a happy camper if I got stranded in some remote area because I chose road specific tires. :fishing:

I had BFG KO's on my gen4 and they were okay. I then switched to Bridgestone Dueller Revo's and liked them much more. They were quieter and smoother on the hwy, excellent in the rain, and were as good as the BFG's in snow and mud. I've read some reviews about them wearing out fast, but that was not my experience.

If you want peace of mind when off-roading, get KM2's. You sacrifice a little mpg and slight ride quality, but they can take you through some pretty gnarly stuff. Though from what I have heard, they will suffer a little bit in the snow, which can be addressed through siping. Also, it is night and day with how much better they look than the stock tires. I do use mine as a daily driver and don't have complaints at going 80 mph.

The less miles the better. Eaiser to get a refund, trade in, or whatever "they" want to call it.

Nothing, they fit like a charm without any mods. Keep in mind, I have an SR5, not a TE. the wheel well trim/flarings on the TE might cause some rubbing, but I do not know for sure. Others might jump in here and help UtahSooner out with this issue.

I doubt rubbing would be an issue, but speedo would probably be ~3%-5% slower.

Yes, your spot on. I do have to get the speedo re-calibrated. But that is it.
