Just recently replaced valve cover gaskets and have a leak still and with a mirror can see that these are leaking. What are these called and how difficult are they to replace? Thanks

I believe they are referred to the 'half moons' . I think most people reccommend a form in place gasket to seal them when replacing the valve cover gaskets.

they are not the half moons. the half moons are all aluminum and are sealed in place with toyota fipg. these are the cam seal plugs. easily replaced. take the two bolts holding them in place off and remove them and replace.

Will i need to remove the valve covers again? Can not find any repair data on Alldatapro.

yup gotta take the valve covers back off to do them..
not hard to do at all, just tedious.. i did the same thing when i did my valve cover gaskets.. ended up being those cam plugs. clean the area where the plug sits good before placing the new one in.

I remember those. I did the same thing; replaced the valve cover gasket and didn't change them. When I took it back apart, I decided it would be a good idea to clean my injectors too. I managed to rip injector seals like 5 times putting the fuel rail back on. I think I was just having a bad day but I did get REALLY fast at pulling the intake plenum...
