What are you guys paying for the TRD Pro 4runner

Here’s the deal. My credit got wrecked by my shitty divorce. Now I’m at lease end for my 2015 trail premium. The local dealer got a TRD Pro in and went to try and lease it. After chatting the guy came to me with 875 a month and 10k yearly. My jaw dropped. My current lease is 517 for a 4Runner that’s 4K less than this. I asked what are you basing these numbers off of? Gold plated everything? I didn’t get a number. I asked what my equity is. No answer. What are you basing this on Msrp? No clear answer. Are you adding $10k on top of the 44k msrp? Still no real answer. So then he tries to sell me an sr5. A rag 4 or Tacoma. Wutda? I came in for the 4Runner. The I said I want my keys back. Which took 30 minutes and then he brought his manager to me and I basically blew him off and said I want my keys and walked...

All this time the salesman was saying how it’s exclusive and limited and this and that but gave zero numbers except that it going to be 875 a month for a lease.
Am I leasing a Mercedes?

What are you guys paying for your trd pros. This guy must be on crack or something. In my eyes it’s still just a 4Runner and I was happy to walk out on the guy
He may or may not call back. No loss. Guess it wasn’t meant to be. Now next choice is a jeep which I happen to be good friends with the owners of the entire dealership. This may go over easier not that the rubicon is my top choice but I’m at lease end and need something other than my evo!

You can reply here or dm if you don’t want the world to know. I just had my mind blown by an 875 month lease.

Btw how do they figure out equity on the vehicle. Is it the difference between buyout and the amount paid by monthly payments? How is it calculated.

Most guys pay MSRP for their Pro's, or a little under. $875 does seem high for a lease. So they didn't break down any numbers for you? Cap reduction(any money down)? With a high residual value for a 4R that seems insane. That payment seems like a straight finance loan with no money down. You ask about equity? For a lease turn in. You have the buyout number at the end of your current lease that you can then buy the 4R. You don't have have any equity in your current lease by just returning it.

Yeah no numbers were given at all. Just a straight 875 month for a lease and 2000 down. But no number as to what it’s based on. No equity numbers. It’s extremely high for a lease. My trail premium was 40k and 517 a month. 875 for the extra 4 k of the pro does t add up to the additional amount especially based on the total
Lack of numbers given to me. 875 maybe for a finance plan but oh well. I walked out. And the fact he then tried to sell me a rav 4 or something annoyed me more.

FYI

If you pay MSRP, Ex: $45,000. No $$ down for 72 mos you are around $750 mo depending on interest rate and sales tax.

Good luck

You should face criminal charges if you even think about paying $875 for a lease on a $40k truck. I would laugh hysterically at anyone that paid that for a 4Runner.

THIS INFO SHOULD BE STICKY WORHTY

Never make a deal without knowing final numbers.

Coming from someone with experience - Things to know:

Agreed price of vehicle
Money factor (short explanation - APR:Finance :: money factor:lease)
Rent charge*
Residual value (hard number)
Residual value percentage**
Lease fee (charge to open the contract)
Disposition fee (charge to complete the lease by returning vehicle)

Rent charge* can be calculated after your have the selling price and the money factor.
Residual value percentage** is good to have for future reference. It allows you to confirm your residual value and let’s you determine if you have equity later down the road.

Quick tip: NEVER put money down on a lease.

Once you have this info, you can easily determine whether or not you’re getting a deal. Any online calculator can run numbers for you.

It’s almost 4am and I’m done Black Friday shopping so this was somewhat of a quick reply from my phone. If you have questions, tag me on here and I’ll try to help further.

I paid MSRP for mine, they would not come down on that, but I did get them to come up on the trade in value on my FJ Cruiser (from their original offer).

As for the quote you received, it is tough to figure out how good or bad of a deal it is without the numbers. Given that they are unwilling to discuss the numbers, I would walk away also.

Personally, I don't lease vehicles.

I think most are paying msrp or a tad less, the exception being the new cav blue.

If your credit is shot I would bet a good portion of that payment is higher interest

Yes creditnis shot due to the divorce. However my brother was co-signing and then Title of it to me. He has stellar credit. It’s like he was leasing it and giving it to me. But still the only number given was 875 a month.

MSRP here and feel lucky to get it. Shout out to Modesto Toyota and Magnussen Toyota, two dealers in the Bay Area that do not mark up their vehicles. Found PLENTY of places with TRDs in stock that we’re willing to sell for 4-15k over MSRP. Sad part is they were getting it.

Sounds like you’re just dealing with a dealer that marks up. Know it’s happening in plenty of places on the west coast. I don’t like it but they’re not breaking the law. you can choose to pay or not.

Paid MSRP for mine a few weeks ago, in Oregon.

Definitely need the numbers broken down. Something doesn’t seem right with your deal?!

I PMed you, I will also add you should never lease a 4runner, they retain their value pretty well and should be financed. Also, 4runner never has deals, No APR deals, and no Lease deals. For that same money, you can be driving a Grand Cherokee a lot more loaded and probably a V8. It's a lease and reliability shouldn't be a concern.

Just letting you know I lease because I get bored. I usually keep all my parts so if I mod I can return to stock.

Buy your 2015.

And as Performance said...You gotta know the numbers....Always negotiate the sale price of a vehicle with the lease...salesman asks you "how much would you like to pay each month?" walk the F out. You need to know final sales price as money factor.....

I bought my TRD Pro 1k under MRSP. It would be foolish to lease A TRD Pro even if you put it through the company....

My local dealer sells them at MSRP.
That guy was on crack, or he thought you were.
How bad is your credit? Not good, or annihilated cash only for years bad?
PS You can lease a $70K GLS for that.

Toyota has some weird math that no one understands but them. I was looking at a TRD Off-road premium dude tried to shove a trd pro at me for 18k over MSRP, I laughed and went somewhere else..

I know most people have been paying 43-44,5 OTD (CA) on the off road premium with moonroof and KDSS. I had some credit issues thanks to my ex wife and was trading in a car I still owed 2500 on. It took like an hour of negotiating to get it down to 43,5 OTD (They threw lojack and tracker in but whatever). They go to finance come back with 929month with 10K down and they wanted all sorts of shit and a stipulation. I was like wtf? Who else did you run it through? Apparently no one just toyota and the automagic rate was 17% (with a 650 FICO which is bullshit). Made them run it through CapOne which came back with 5% but wanted a little bit more cash.

Have one open collection which I paid off 2 months ago but it's still on the report. My bank said they could give me 2.9% as soon as it's off the report so I'll just refinance in 3 month.
