What bike rack?

I have yet to see a hitch-mounted rack on the market that offers the degree of grip and security you get by locking down a bike by its front fork.

I have and it is called Sprotsworks. (-security) I'm not kiding, it is solid as a rock. No shaking, wobbling, noises or anything!

This is the company that makes the bike racks on the front of busses in the city. The rack is exceptional in my opinion.

I was leary when looking to replace my Thule fork mount roof rack and I can say that the Sprotsworks rack is as good as a fork mount. And if security is a concern you can buy a lock for the bikes. Me, I don't care because I am either riding the bike or I am driving with it on the back and don't leave it anywhere.

If you want security, the Yakima Hitchfork (fork mounted hitch rack) and Sportworks are simply the best.
With mountainbikes, you really are doing yourself a favor by going hitchmount.

I've found hitchmounts to be the best for MPG's, stability, ease of access and safety.

Hitchmounts are not ideal if you don't bike often or frequently need full access to the rear hatch.

I bike everyday, I have used all kinds of mounts (most of the time I just put the bikes inside) but hitchmounts are the best for suv's imo.
