What brake pads do you use? ceramic vs. semi-metallic

Hi Everyone,
I need to change my front and back brake pads. Which pads are the best? OEM? Ceramic? Semi-metallic? Brand?

My original rears lasted until 75k and the fronts still had/have a lot of life left.

I replaced the rears with OEM and I'll do the same with the front.

OEM for sure! I just ordered my 3rd set from Camelback today and have 165k on my runner. The set on there now was changed at around 100k and still have meat on them! I did replace the rotors at 100k, only because its easy and for peace of mind.

I put a set of brembos all around on mine and I’m happy with them. They are a bit noisy for most people though. Most applications oem is more than sufficient

I'm interested to see when I lift and get rid of the horrendous brake dive how much breaking improves. Rn I thinks it's fairly shit but I attribute most of that to how much the the stock front suspension loads up under braking. Not confidence inspiring on the street or dirt.

After the lift and only after I have road tested would I consider switching to some hawk pads (ran them on several drift cars). That would for sure give better bite. However I think there is a good chance a proper suspension would be enough with oem pads.

Hawk pads bite hard but definitely have some squeal so take that into consideration. Prob get pretty f*cking obnoxious doing serious wheeling for an extended period of time. If I have to go that route I will. Safety is more important to me then silent wheeling.

Ceramic last longer for me the factory pads on my 04 F250 lasted almost 200000 miles no crap! Put them on my 2015 F350 semi weren’t lasting long.

Changed front and rear brake pads with Akebono Pro-Act Ceramics @ 30K. They seem to operate similar to OEM pads. Next time around I will use OEM pads with Centric brake rotors.

I put new pads and rotors from Advanced Auto on mine. I think I went with their Gold level, so nothing too fancy. The pads are ceramic. They've been on there about 20K miles and work great. Ceramic pads are a lot less filthy in my experience and don't stain the wheels.

I've used duralast gold ceramic pads with centric rotors since replacing my OEM ones. I've noticed no difference in braking performance and with their lifetime warranty it's a no brainier. I'm on my 2nd set at 140k. Even if they wear faster the next set is free.

Replaced all OEM pads with Brembo. Big difference for me. Less physical effort applying brake pressure. Less forward creep.
