I thought my 22re was strong compared to this
thats pretty much how it is. and all the 3.0's ive driven have felt that way.

The reason that the 4.3 is such a popular swap - is because a 350 small block is just a bit too long for the engine bay. The 350 is doable, but you have to do a bunch of things like moving the radiator in front of the core support. In addition, it is easy with the small block to overpower your transmission, transfer case (if so equipped) and axle(s) - and break them.
So, often the smarter swap is the 4.3 - lopping 2 cylinders off the front of the 350 gives you the room you need to run the accessories and whatnot - without resorting to the Plasma torch in a big way.
I assume you said that because you are familiar with the early 4.3 - which would rattle your brains out from the vibration that they had. Later 4.3s had a balance shaft installed on them, that made them every bit as smooth as the 3.4, without the enormous dual cam heads - and more torque than the 3.4 was capable of.
What all do you have to change to bolt up a 350 in one?

When i did a compression test on my engine, my guy told me that: If you feel the engine is under powered, or your exhaust is blue. Than you probably have compression problems.
But my 3L doesnt have comp. problems and it is still gutless up hills haha
