What did everyone pay for their 4th gen?

I bought mine from a local Toyota dealer. They were asking $12991, I was able to get it for $12,000. It was super clean inside and out.It is a 2005 V8 with 111k miles. It was a one owner that was owned by an older couple and all the maintenance was done at Toyota dealers. From the looks of the records oil was changed every 3,000 miles on average. I paid a bit more than it was probably worth but the fact that it was owned by and older couple and it had such an extensive service record history I thought it was well worth the premium.

$12,800 for my 2008 SR5 4wd with 100k miles. Single owner, maintained every 5k miles at a single dealership, no accidents, and the interior is in great shape.

After I got it home, I noticed a good amount of rust around the moon roof. I really should have checked that better at the dealership. Luckily, the dealership agreed to replace it for me.

Just bought my 4Runner yesterday

2004 SR5 V6 with 96k miles and all service records. I paid $8400.

The truck has a few scrapes and scratches here and there, as well a pretty rusty rear axle/diff (it's a PA car). Speaking of which... do you guys think this is salvageable if I treat it with Corroseal or POR-15? Worst part seems to be where the axle goes into the left hub :shocked:

pudzley, that some decent rust. Similar to mine, i recently took a wire wheel to grind down the heavy spots of rust then used POR-15 on everywhere i could reach

Saw it sitting behind a barn so I asked the owner if he wanted to sell it. He said sure, it’s been sitting for a year and needs a battery. I through a battery in it and it fired right up. He gave me all the maintenance records and the keys and off I went.

Ugh. I'd take the whole wheel and rotor off. Then work it over with a wire brush, or rotary tool with a wire bit. Then paint it all with Por15. Perhaps two coats. That will stop the rust in it's tracks.

Virtually no rust

I'm doing new shocks, springs, brakes, rotors, and tires this weekend. So add about $1,100 to that price, which means I probably paid too much. I couldn't find anything within $3k of that price though for something similar in my area. (Seattle)

-leaking CV axle on passenger side
-burnt out lights on A/C; heat controls
-TPMS sensor is out (light on dash)

Dealer asking $11,489. After reviewing KBB and NADA, I was going to offer $9k based on averages, etc. Do you feel that is a good staring point? Will pay cash obviously but wanted to know if I was being realistic
