What did everyone pay for their 4th gen?

$6,500 for an 03 Sport Edition V8 with 133k miles. Some minor rust on the undercarriage.

Fixed an exhaust leak at the manifold (was just the gasket)
Replaced the Power Steering Pump (went out 2 weeks after purchase)
Installed a 3" Rough Country Lift Kit
Installed Freedom Offroad Upper Control Arms
Installed DR KDSS Panhard Correction Kit
Replaced L/R Turn Signal Harnesses & Housings
Replaced Hood Support Struts

I'm sure there will be a few more mods to come but most of those were necessities.

I paid $13,500 for my 2009 Trail Edition.

There is rust, but its manageable. I should have negotiated down a bit more due to needing new tires immediately, rust, bumps and scrapes, and a pretty faded roof. The rear diff lock does not seem to want to engage either. Got caught up in the excitement of finding a Trail Edition lol.

140k miles, 2 owner with full service records from the dealership.

Good place for me to start

I just joined and am on the lookout for a 4th gen 4Runner here in the PNW. If has always been in the area, will not have to worry about rust. I was a tech/service manager in KC, Mo. for years before moving here, and dealt with lots of rust problems.

Have found a few 200k+ miles rigs for a fair price but as soon as the mileage goes below the 150k mark, the rig appears to be made of gold. I have the money to buy a nice rig and do want to stick with the 2008 or 2009 model years but I refuse to pay a ridiculous price.

As a retired tech, I have the means to inspect them before a purchase and have educated myself about what to look for on the 1GR-FE engines. Hope to find one that does not have the dreaded timing cover oil leak.

Anyway, if anyone knows of one for sale in the PNW, please let me know. Thanks for allowing my membership here and hope to help when can.

Solution:
Step 0 - Find non paved surface
Step 1 - Shift to Neutral
Step 2 - Put in 4LO
Step 3 - LOCK CENTER DIFFERENTIAL - switch on dash by door
Step 4 - Hit Rear Differential switch - center console switch
Step 5 - Shift into any gear
Step 6 - Drive forward slowly - Turn in s pattern - Rear Diff will engage
Step 7 - Buy me a beer

I payed 9,700 before tax for a SR5 2008 salsa red one with 240k miles as my first car. I got it from a small dealership and there was a few small problems that I fixed by myself and all I have left to fix is the rear latch but I've heard it's difficult to replace on my own so I'm going to try and get the dealership to do it for me. But on the upside is that it came with satellite radio, and has no rust!
