so i read the thread about regularly engaging 4L to keep it running.
and i don't think i ever used 4L mode in ages (or rather since 2006)
so I put the car in Neutral, switch to 4L, and put the gear in reverse (cuz it was in garage). as soon as i put the gear in reverse, it starts to beep. I thought it was normal. (later, i read the manual and u are supposed to abort when it beeps)
and then i released the brake, and the car moved a few feet while the dash board flashes, and then all of a sudden, i heard a loud motor whirring noise from the bottom of the engine room. it took me maybe 2 seconds until i put the gear back to Neutral and start over. the second time, it worked fine mainly because i was going forward rather than reverse.
now, this motor whirring noise... it sounded like the actuator was making some noise that it was not supposed to make. did i mess up my car?
it runs fine in all modes (2H, 4H, 4L) but when i'm driving in highway speed, i think i hear some noise that wans't there before. but then it may just be due to me trying extra hard to hear things that wasn't there before.
question. what's this whirring noise i heard? did i mess something up cuz i ignored beeping noise and drove in reverse?
