FINALLY getting back into my 4Runner restoration. My 85 just spent awhile at a shop getting the original 22re rebuilt, transmission rebuilt, short throw shift kit and new exhaust with LCE Headers. Just got it back and now waiting 3 months for my OME lift kit, rims and new tires. Some interior plans in the mix as well.
In two weeks, it’s getting dry ice blasted. Under carriage and engine bay. Excited to see that before/after.
I’d love to post some pics, but my files recently continue to fail to load once selected.

Power steering pump replacement
Finally replaced the growling pump. It always had good steering, but the pump always was loud. Replaced with a reman and after the normal bleed by cycling from stop to stop I read it should also be vacuum bled. I've replaced pumps before and never vacuum bled. I do admit it does seem to have quieted the new pump. Over the last few days, the replacement now seems quiet.
Finally replaced the growling pump. It always had good steering, but the pump always was loud. Hi I am new here. 3 weeks ago I Picked up a 1994 4Runner auto v6 3.0 with 126k miles. Great overall condition. Sat at the previous owners shop for over 3 years so I had to do some maintenance. Rear main seal, plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter, diff oil, transfer case oil, motor oil and filter, Trans oil and filter. Completely stock.
Since then, I added a 4-5” lift, old school deep dish 15x12 centerlines, stretched some 31x10.5 general grapplers on the wheels, built a high output box for 2 JL audio 12s and amp rack for 3 lanzar optidrive amps, a 280-300 amp alternator, big 3 wiring all 0 gauge, and a full cleaning of the interior. I also quickly polished the wheels once.
Here are some before and progress pics. Hope to have it completed by first week of Feb.

Installed Phoenix Graphics side and hood decals on my 1984. I also tried installing my Tundra wheels/tires but the 6to5 adapters don't fit over the manual hubs....
pretty sure you want a set of non hub centric adapters (like you would get from Trail-Gear) you would be able to get the tundra rims to work with the SA front hubs. I had the rims from my 05 Tacoma mounted on my 81 Toyota Trekker for a short time.
you are correct about having to resize pictures.
basically if you are posting from your phone it should give you the option to reduce the image size, it needs to way less than 1 MB, select a small to medium size like less than 400 kb, you are limited less than 1 MB total of pics per post
I toggled the upper pic size from 3.1 mb down to around 150 lbs in the bottom pic
or another option is to post from Tapatalk but i have never had luck with that. Some people have photobucket or other hosting services that you can pay for and use the

FSM merely says to bleed by cycling from side to side. No vacuum. I did same after I replaced my steering gear box. Happy So Cal Summer!

Scored some leather seats from a 2nd gen in fairly good condition. Threw some Noico sound deadening under the floorboard and in the door panels while I had the opportunity to. Will proceed to sound deaden the back once it gets warm enough to switch to the softopper and pull the sleeping platform out while tops are in transition. I’ll have a lot more room to work then. These seats are much more comfy than the previous Summit Racing seats I had in them!

Slightly so far. I still need to do the back and then I think I’ll really be able to tell a difference. There’s a night and day difference with the doors, though. Knocking on them before vs after sound deadening made it easy to tell a difference.

We just got a 95 SR5 a few months back, currently it needs
Axle shafts, ball joints, control arms, rotors, pads, new valve cover gaskets and cam plugs, a coolant flush, transmission pan gasket needs to be replaced and so does the oil pan gasket
It's gonna be a bit job, on top of that the speedo cable is bad and the knock sensor harness is throwing a code too

I can't post a new thread yet so I'm asking here.
How does a bad ground effect the EFI fuse? I have a 93 3.0 and it's blowing the EFI with every attempt at starting.
O2 sensors wires are fine. Replaced Relays, new fuel pump, disconnected AFM and VSV. No change.
Only blows when starting and not in the on position. I'm extremely frustrated. Swapped the Computer and no change.
I'm going nuts here. I can't find anything wrong but as soon as you turn the key and the starter is turning it blows the EFI FUSE.
any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Did you recently replace a part before this started happening? Had this similar thing happen when I replaced my alternator.
Turns out the new part or “rebuilt oem” alternator purchased on eBay was poorly rebuilt from the person who purchased it from and it kept blowing that 30 amp fuse every single time as well. Got the doofus to send out a total of 3 different alternators out and they all gave different problems.
Got a proper rebuilt replacement from Autozone and haven’t had any problem since. My guess was internal shorting in the first alternator. Best of luck to you.
