What did you drive before your 4Runner

DRASTIC CHANGE, to say the least.

I hit a pot hole on a turn in Houston in my Audi and it completely destroyed the integrity of the brakes on the driver side of the vehicle. I was so disappointed and shocked that such a normal occurrence (in Texas) could do so much damage.
I left the dealership with a Q8 but quickly bought the 2020 4runner pro. I never want to be stuck in a bad part of Houston at midnight without wheels or help over A POTHOLE again.

Before I got my 2005 4Runner, I had a 2005 Honda CR-V with a camper conversion built inside it... I'm in the process of doing a conversion to the 4Runner, but opting to go with a lighter more simpler build inside and focus more on making it a rugged all purpose vehicle.

2011 MINI Cooper Countryman that I bought brand new. Which was great for the first 3 years, until the warranty was up and unrealized it was made like crap. Clutch died at 40,000 miles and cost an arm and leg to replace. Better to upgrade to something older and reliable!

Nice 3rd gen looks like a lot of work was put in it. We still have ours and every time I think I want to upgrade it for offroading it reminds me that is fat dog slow and under powered so I leave it stock...lol

Immediately prior it was a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder Limited 4x4, the worst SUV I’ve ever driven off-road. It wasn’t particularly special on-road either.

The long line of cars before that were a 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid, 2005 Acura CL 3.2, 2001 BMW Z3 2.5, 1997 Honda Accord EX, 2000 Saturn SC2, 1991 Acura Legend, 1988 Honda Accord LX, and my first car as a teenager, a 1992 Toyota Carrolla.

I loved my 4Runner and the BMW Z3. The Camry Hybrid was meh, as all Camrys are. Other than that, I have learned after 4 Honda-manufactured cars (Honda and Acura) that I am the statistical outlier that Consumer Reports just ignores. They were all lemons, and I will never, ever buy another Honda made vehicle again.
