What did you drive before your T4R?

My last 4 were:
-2002 Acura TL-S
-2004 Nissan 350Z
-2005 Infiniti G35 Coupe
-2009 Nissan 370Z

I'm 31 y/o and this is my first SUV. Traded my 2009 Nissan 370Z in 3 weeks ago...it was a VERY impulsive buy...I had no plan on getting rid of my Z that morning or that evening...however, in an instant (within 10 minutes) I went from not buying to pulling my credit up (I'm an internet sales manager at a Toyota dealership)...

I've been questioned by my coworkers and friends as to WHY WHY WHY??? I've been asked if I knocked some girl up or got married, etc... I guess 31 is too young of an age to be driving this? I guess it's a big change because pretty much all the cars I've owned have been some sort of a sports cars and no one's seen me in anything but a sports car...

So, what did you come from before your T4R? If you don't mind, include your age...

05 Mazda3, 2.3 hatchback. That was a fun car, but it got too small.
99 Ford Expedition. 12.4 mpg... numerous mechanical problems...had to go.
95 Jeep Cherokee. Loved driving it, Mx problems broke my bank account.
79 Ford F-150. Ex sold it without permission while I was at basic training. Needless to say, we divorced shortly after.. Man, I loved that truck!
72 Chev. Impala 2 door. I would give both ovaries to have this car today... I blew up the engine drag racing so my Dad sold it.

Oh, and I'm 39. ... I don't really care who knows it.

Honestly the minivans were a very "practical" vehicle...Loved the avalanche...but needed more seats to have for hauling extra kids around. So far I am really enjoying my first Toyota 4runner

I would think if you bought a Vanza, Highlander or some other crossover vehicle you might be too young, and deserving of getting ripped on by your friends... but the 4Runner is a beast! :trophy:

I'm 27 years old. The T4R is technically "our" car. My GTI was sold when I decided I wanted a Miata or S2000 as a fun car. Then I ran some numbers on my house and dumped all that money into equity in my home while I wait for the Toyota/Subaru/Scion FT-86/FR-S/????? that is due out next year. So, for the time being, the T4R is my daily driver. Like the OP, some people were shocked that I got a big SUV. I've been known, in the past, to rant about SUVs and how big, stupid, and useless they were. I'm not afraid to admit that I was wrong. While not a sports car, the T4R is good at sooooo many things. I'll get a sporty car to compliment it in the garage soon enough.

Funny, my wife didn't have her own car until she finished nursing school. She bought her MINI and she wants no other. She loves the Toyota, because it is such a good vehicle, but the MINI is her baby.
