I've had a few...86 Tempo, 95 Dakota, 95 Mustang...this is the gas hog I sold to get the 4Runner. Apparently it was a safe haven for stray cats.

Jeep Wrangler. Enjoyed it but started to have a lot of minor issues. Sold it for 50% of what I paid for it 13 years before. Was a great vehicle for maintaining value.

And this is why I now have a 4Runner. This was taken in Bishop, in 2014. I had car problems on my annual Nevada/Mojave ghost town trips three years in a row:

I've owned three Troopers in a row, and that last one was my favorite. Unfortunately they stopped making them in 2005, and it's getting hard/expensive to get parts/repairs. So I bought the 4Runner in February, and I'm really looking forward to taking it to Nevada/Mojave this summer.

BTW, the first car I ever owned was an International Scout.

my bottom two were the Explorer and the 4runner when i was shopping...

the 4runner won out because of the body-on-frame/truck architecture and Toyota quality/dependability...
