What did you have before your 4Runner?

Fun! Ive had a bunch of cars but here is the highlights. My big turbo SR 240SX was fast. Not a single stock suspension component under that car. It was unreal on the mountain.
Fully built and caged turbo ITR. All the money was in the engine and the rest was pretty stock but that car was so good from the factory it didnt need much.

Couple of sweet corollas. Current family wagon. I still love my beater pathfinder.

Honorable mention to my sweet turbo 1st gen eclipse and a ratted 260z that I dont have pics handy for.

My last ride was a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 4.7 V8. I loved that thing! In 14 years it broke down twice and both times it was in my drive way. Considering all the times I was in the woods hunting and if it wouldn't start I would have been kinds screwed, I'm real happy about that! I had 3 Jeeps in a row and while I had pretty good luck with them it seems after 115,000 miles or so the problems start. I wanted more long term reliability and I love the looks of the $runner so hereI am!

Grew up in a Volvo family, we were often trading cars between us, so there was a lot of turnover. It's been an interesting transition. I really miss the Volvo's turning radius, storage capacity, and how cheap parts were. Other than that, though, I've been loving the 4Runner.

About 5 other Toyota trucks to build my 83 with 529 dual cases and 33" super swampers then swapped the axles for dana60 up front and dana 70 rear in 38s.
12th. 1985 T4R 5sp EFI straight axle wiring was crazy rats nest so parted it out and ended up trading rolling shell and axles for a 1987 T4R Turbo.it only needed a tune-up drove and wheeled stock for a while then sold it.
13th.1997 T4R stock with TRD Supercharger then converted to rear leaf springs taco axle with e-locker and manual hub conversion on a 3" lift with nitrogen shocks up front. (This was the one that was stolen and totaled)
14th.2006 Chevy Duramax crew cab 4x4 with some add ons..
15th. Honda Odyssey (Wife mobile)
16th. 2000T4R on 3"ToyTech lift and 33" KM2 sliders and soon to be e-locker rear and much more.
I have had a total of 31 vehicles but the others where short term build and sell or part out.

04 factory manual is300 sportdesign (along with my daily in the background that i sold a week or so ago). i got tired of not being able to go anywhere when it snowed and the IS sitting in the garage rotting the majority of the time i owned it. so i wised up, sold both and have a 3rd gen. no regrets.

ive driven the IS in the snow in that current state, let me tell you. snow mode does NOT help with that much camber. lol. the highway patrol was not stoked. the first and last time i did that.

I traded a 2004 Grand Cherokee for a 2007 Sport Edition with 169K. I also still have a 1999 jeep wrangler. Included pics of both. Looking forward to making my 4Runner look more like my jeep or vice versa..... Also doing a frame off resotoration on a 1993 Wrangler Olympic Edition.

All of you have, and had some impressive vehicles for sure. Over the years I have had some as well. Now at the ripe old age of 70 I decided on the 2019 4R Limited. As far as off road types I have had are three Jeeps, one Chevy Blazer, Chrysler Aspen(currently still own). Living in Northern Michigan I wouldn't have anything else but 4WD.

2002 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road. V6, 5-speed. Stock. I bought it new. Lots of adventures in the eastern Sierra Nevada, Death Valley, Nevada. Just gave it to my son. 177,500 trouble free miles. Everything works. Replaced with a low mileage 2018 4Runner.
