What do I need?

I want to start out by saying that this forum is the whip!!!
A lot of info and sometimes too much and it gets confusing...
That being said I have a 05 V8 Sport with the Xreas suspension. I am going to get rid of that setup and go with new shocks & springs.

Do I need special socks? Are the mounts different than a Non-Xreas setup?

I know that 3rd gen TRD Tacoma front shocks & springs will fit on a Non-Xreas 4Runner but will they fit on mine? (I would like to find a pair)

I would like to go with some Bilsteins 5100 in the rear with maybe some Moog FJ springs

Also, I have seen some broken shocks at the base and the article said that they used spacers (Not sure how thick) and too much weight was on the front end and that's what happens?

Am I asking too much?

Thanks

I can only help you with your first question, I'll let others answer the other questions....

"Do I need special socks?"

Only if it gets real cold, I would suggest wool socks, now if it gets really, really cold you may need to wear 2 pair!

Sorry I couldn't resist! LOL

I have a 6 cyl 2005 Sport that had XReas, which I recently removed and I installed the 3rd Gen Taco suspension. I’m very happy with it. The only extra steps with the work on XReas systems is removing the hydraulic lines and system. Lots of threads on here about XReas delete. Make sure you pay attention to disconnecting at the proper points to not spray fluid all over.

dont need special shocks, any shocks listed for 03-09 4runner will fit, same for other vehicles years that use the same shocks.
