What do these packages offer, and what year did 4R's start making fogs?

Had some questions, as im looking to trade/sell my 2nd gen for a 3rd gen....

What do these packages come with/offer:
gold package
sport package
tow package
winter package

And also, @ what year did toyota start to put the stock fog lights in the bumpers for the 4runners?

gold package - gold front and rear emblems, and side insignias for the limiteds

sport package - hood scoop, higher stance for 99-00, brushed aluminum interior trim

tow package - tow hitch in rear

no idea on the winter package?

toyota had stock fogs in 97's and 98's, they were square hella's... then they changed the front bumper design in 99+ and added the smaller, round ones.

nope, my 98 limited does not have fog lamps. That's why I need a grill guard and some really bright lights.

I think Lee is saying that the foglights were a stock option, not every truck had them, but you could get a Runner w/ them stock. Just like the locker is stock, but not every truck has one. Don't confuse base equipment w/ stock options. The winter package came with things like a stronger wiper motor, higher amp alternator 85 vs 75, windsheild channel and maybe more, but you get the idea. Most 4Runners sold in cold climates will have the winter option already, just like most limiteds here in MA come w/ fogs and a locker, but not every one.

By '99 all Limited and Highlander/Sport models had them standard but with regular SR5s they were an option.

An awesome option for the off road crowd which electronically controls the rear diff to positively lock both the right and left rear wheels for maximum traction when climbing or getting unstuck.

My bad,I didn't think they showed up til the 4th gens. I'll take the e-locker over the seats tho' even if on days like today (5 above zero is the high) heated seats would trump my e-locker.
