what do you do with old parts or mods?

I'm wondering what to do with some parts from my truck that I have taken off. I know you can post stuff on this site but does anyone know of places that buy parts? Just wondering as I would like to make some money and get more garage space.

try ebay........don't expect to get top dollar, but something is better than nothing. I haven't had luck with craigslist...

Most of the enthusiasts I know take one of two approaches when it comes to stock parts they replace.

One: If they intend to hold onto the vehicle until the wheels fall off they sell the parts (usually on-line).

Two: If they trade their vehicles every few years or sell them privately they keep the stock parts. Before selling/trading the vehicle they return the vehicle to stock and sell the parts separately. Doing this maximizes the amount of $$$ they get and makes it easier to sell/trade the vehicle.

@ charlier180- I'm number 1 on steroids. I never plan on selling my truck ever for any reason. lol anyway I do have a both a fear and misunderstanding of Ebay (scams, etc) and really don't know how to use it. thanks for the advice everyone. Do you think its better for me to sell the parts on this site or Ebay/craigslist or other like a parts store.

I have always sold my used parts on various forums. Much easier than having to worry about the hassle of ebay and such.

eBay is not necessarily a bad thing, I have had nothing but positive experiences in my transactions via eBay. For eBay I just watch for the buyer's feedback history. But there are a lot of horror stories of the scams and shenanigans that happens to others too. Craig's List has worked out well for me too. On CL, it takes patience and not just sell on the first person with an inquiry.

If just signing up for eBay, you might not be able to sell. I don't know if they lifted that restriction of having 10 positive feedbacks before you're allowed to list (sell).

Forums would be the best bet, as the buyer is most like a 4Runner enthuiast too.
