What do you guys think about these KC's?

So basically I know nothing about fog lights or aftermarket lights. But I know KC has a good reputation. They have two versions of these, one with clear lenses that they call "driving" lights, and one with more frosted looking lenses that they call "fog" lights. I want to get a set to use basically as needed - in rain, snow, fog, country roads, wooded roads, etc . . .

Would these be a good option? And based on the pictured accessories and product description do these come with everything necessary to install and call it finished?

for that price you should just buy a set of PIAAs, they come with a plug and play wire harness, everything just plugs together, and its all nicely packaged in a loom. sure KC has a good quality product and a good reputation, but thats not even their 6" daylighters, for that price if you keep looking on Ebay you can find a set of nice PIAAs that wont look so out of place on your rig. -note that those are the old school 60s, 70s, and 80s style big tear-drop style housing that will look like you stole them off your grandfathers farm truck to put on your runner. some of PIAA's lights are smaller (4") and will give way better light, even their 6" lights are way smaller than those KCs. besides they want way too much for those lights in my opinion...

Are the black housing pieces on these PIAA's removable? Ive looked at several and they dont specify in the descriptions. I honestly dont like them. I think they look kinda tacky

you mean the grilles? yeah same as KCs. i really prefer the actual solid covers, as they protect the lights from rock chips better. but yeah all the covers on the PIAA lights are removable. -look at my truck i dont have any of the grilles on mine, and all of my lights (except for the two big ones on the brush guard -IPF)are PIAA. they also have some of the best customer service ive ever experienced. they gave me a brand new set of lights for a 10+y/o set that were on my 4runner when i bought it. the reflector surface was starting to peal and corrode, i walked into their office with the lights, and they handed me a brand new set, much nicer and several steps up from what i had in my hands, and said there ya go, have a nice day... i was dumbfounded, they didnt try for on sec to say well its an old light, so thats just gonna happen.... or you dont have a receipt... or anything like that. i have never interacted with a company that had such outstanding customer service. i only wanted to see if i could get(purchase) a replace reflector for the ligth.

I have the KC 6" Daylighters. They are great for lighting the way on the back roads. They also have a 23 year warranty. I crushed my in a wreck and I boxed them up and sent them back to them and they sent me a brand new set.

So you have the driving lights, not the fog lights?

Not trying to hijack buddy, but do you know if hella has a thing like that? I walked outside about 2 months ago and one of my lights was just hanging there . The plastic shroud broke, so yeah... Hella??? (Under a year old)

thats why i hate hellas, they are junk, crap lights and housings... they have way too much vibration and no hella wont do anything sorry

I have the driving lights....I drive a lot in West Texas where you may go hours without seeing another car but you will see a ton of deer. These lights have saved me numerous times from hitting a deer....

I'd have to agree.....those KC's seem a little over priced. I've had my Westin driving lights for about 6 years, and they are still working fine! I first installed them on my Westin Light bar, and then installed them in my lower valance. I paid NOTHING for them, as they came with the light bar, after I mailed out a coupon!

If and when I replace my Westin's, I'll most likely go and buy a set of Piaa's. I like how they look, and how they perform. I just hope they will fit in my lower valance????!!!

Neither KC nor PIAA have a warranty like that. That's simply just good customer service because they understand thet their customers are.what makes their business. Hella is too big and they probably do not care about the individual customer, as they are the largest automotive light manufacturer in the world. The lights they sell to you and me are not what keeps them afloat, auto manufacturers are with their headlights and tail lights... So my guess is they will not go out of their way compensate you...
