most people prefer the 22re 4cyl to the 3.0 v6.

most also prefer manual trans, but that is subjective i suppose.

if you do go with that truck, keep an eye on the head gasket as apparently they are a weak spot in the motor.
 
Looks very clean. They are a dealer so I would think there is a pretty fair amount of wiggle room in that price listed.
 
Honestly don't do it. It is way overpriced for a 2nd gen. I just sold my 2nd gen for a 3rd gen because the 2nd gen was too underpowered, bad gas mileage and a lot more comfortable in the 3rd gen. You can find a 3rd gen with a bit more mileage, but it will be worth it. Just being blunt, but I don't want you to make the same mistake I did.

X2. Plus you'll have to buy new tires very soon as the ones on there look like they're starting to crack from age. The only way I would even consider paying that much for a 2nd gen is if it's got all new belts and pumps, and brand new head gaskets. I got a '94 in even nicer condition, with about 50K more miles, for $2500 less, and even then some would think I overpaid. If you do decide to get it I wouldn't pay more than $4500. 2nd gens pop up on Craigslist all the time by me for pretty cheap ($3,000 or less). Most need some work, but that $3,500 you could save could go a LONG way to making one super nice.
 
i have a 95

i paid 3200 for mine and it had 200k i have put 400 into it and im out of things to fix!!! i like the back door on the 2nd gens. i dont want a mini van nor do i want a mini vans back door i like having a tailgate to fish off of. it is true that the 3rd gens are faster and more powerful but when im in the mountains in 4 low it works just like the 3rd gen. in saying all that no way would i pay that much but you will be happy about a 4runner no matter what.
 
Over priced!! Go with a 3rd gen.. More bang for your buck and you will def dig the 3rd gen way better.. The 3.0 v6 is not a recommended motor at all.. Most 3rd Gens are in better shape than the 2nd gen anyways.. Reguardless of miles.. .. So if you asking me what I think.. I think it's a bad deal period.. I bought my 95 for $1500
 
Only thing I like better on the 2nd gen is the rear slide down window with the tail gate drop instead of the flip up..
