What do you guys think of this 3rd gen?

Thinking of picking up another 3rd gen. It's a 2001 Thundercloud Metallic SR5 with 121k. Since I currently have a '97, what are the pros and cons of a 2001 vs. my 97? I like the center console cup holders and stuff, but anything else mechanically different? It's a one owner truck, and the timing belt doesn't appear to have been replaced, which is no big deal for me to do, but a huge barganing tool in price negotiations.

My truck is really awesome and I love it, but I like that this has less miles, I like the fat lip bumper and I LOVE the color of this 01. I'd probably swap a lot of my aftermarket parts on my 97 and then sell it somewhere down the road. I'm going to go look at it and see what it looks like in person, especially underneath. Feedback would be great.

One con would be the traction control system. Google Andymod 2.0. Also the center diff lock is a button vs your 97 will lock when put into 4hi if im not mistaken.

It looks like a nice truck, but it's priced pretty high. I would think that an 01, non-Limited, with that mileage should go for about $7000-7500 in the midwest. I bought a beautiful 02 Limited, 144K, one-owner, full dealer maint, etc. last April (2012) for $8k from a used car dealer.

Did you go check it out and bust? The biggest difference would be the MultiMode 4wd system which works like an AWD/Full Time until you lock the center diff.

Ya. The back end has been repainted, rather shittily, and the rest of the truck was washed with steel wool apparently. I'm good with paint, but even that was beyond my saving.
