What do you think of my idea?

i have been think of buying a 90-95 4runner and doing a custom modification to make it unique and my own.

i was just wondering what some other 4runner lovers thought about this.

i want to cut of the rear shell and move the rear window right behind the back seats. hopefully being able to reinstally the original window with the role down motor and electronics so that it still works. i would remore the factory role bar and rebuild a custom one around the window frame above the rear seats. then put a headache rack in the new bed with som hella lights mounted on it. of course the carpet would get ripped out and the bed would get ryno lined. i would salvage another tailgate and reinstall it minus the window.

please give me some feedback on this idea. suggestions, comments, other ideas, anything would be nice.

the only thing holding me back is buying a 4runner. their are a lot where i live but no one has theirs for sale and i am kinda scared of buying one off of ebay or something like that!

Why not just get the 4 door Taco. More rear space and your ready to go. Lift the sucker and drop some bigger tires on it.

hey thx TranceKrayz for the pics! i new that i could not be the first one to do this but i could never find any pictures of any 4runner that has had that done!

and for why i dont just by a truch. i am in the market right now but have not found a 90-95 4runner or tacoma (must be a 4door) that is worth buying. anything around here is either not for sale or is a piece of crap not worth the money! i will buy whatever comes up first.

And yes it will definitly get a lift!!!! i live in colorado at the foot of the rocky mountains. ROCKY MTS. it would be a sin not to lift it.

thats right hiluxsurf if i wanted to buy a truck i would buy a truck. if i wanted to spend the time,money, and effort on fixing up a 4runner and doing a custom modification so that i really appriciated the work that i put into it then i would do exactly what i am planing on doing.
besides like the first post says it has been done before. but not around here. i have never. ever. seen a choped 4runner in colorado. ever. i have seen some with a nice lift. in fact their is one that the owner just moved to my town and it is quiet possible the most bueatiful 4runner that i have ever seen(in person and not on the web or in a picture) i pray every night for good health,long life and the same for my family and friends. but now i add on in the end that "please god, let that 4runner come up for sale"

right cooper......not everyone agrees with everyone else, but don't let that discourage you. it's a very cool ideo IMO. just make sure you do it right and don't compromise the strength & safety of your truck. just think....if thomas edison took the easy way out, we'd probably still be using candles and lanterns! i'm sure lots of people doubted him. :
