What do you think of these tires... Anything better?

Are the Bridestone AT Revo 2's marked with the snowflake symbol? I know Bridgestone claims "best" snow performance for their tire, but qualitative comparisons from manufacturers are at best relative to their own standards, and usually meaningless.

Not sure if they're severe rated or not.

I know some people who live in Tahoe who swear by them though.

I wouldn't base the purchase of a tire on something as unreliable as the snowflake symbol.

I suppose it could be used as a tie breaker, but I can't imagine a scenario where the absence of better differentiators required its use for that purpose.

The question is why would anyone consider putting a new set of expensive tires on a vehicle and not having the alignment checked? You can't always tell the alignment is out by the way a vehicle drives. Bad alignments will give you bad wear patterns, cutting a lot of mileage off your new set of tires. An alignment with a new set of tires is cheap insurance.

well if we are gonna ask that questin should we ask when the last time he got an alignment was? lol but I digreass $147 a tire is kinda cheap.... I would probably skip the alignment

If the only thing that has changed is slightly different tire size and if one is willing to keep an eye on the tires and rotate regularly, there's little adverse wear risk. My truck, which has been used very hard in its 115k miles, has never had an alignment. Still tracks straight and I get very even wear.

^^This. Maybe it's just where I'm from, but it's hard to find a nice reliable shop that will take their time and dial in your alignment perfectly nowadays. Most place I've been to is more like a "set the toe and let it go" kind of service, lol. And heavens forbid you ask them to do more than that, they'll kindly explain to you that nothing else can be adjusted because that's how it's built.

I haven't experienced that sort of alignment service so I guess that's the difference. My local shop does a fantastic job with alignment.

I need an alignment, my truck pulls to one side ever since I bought it. Kind of ignored it till now...


Btw, I had a post on Craigslist that I was looking for tires, and a guy just called me. He said his company has a brand new set of leftover Goodyear wrangler at silent armor, brand new never mounted, and he would give them away at $50 a piece!

I hope he calls me back tomorrow morning!

You folks ever had experience with these tires? I honestly don't even care if they are crappy, I can't argue for $200 for a new set!!!

I got a set of four at Ron's Tire Pro here in Bullhead City, AZ. I was surprised when the guy quoted me $600 so I jumped on it. And yeah, 17's generally cost more than 16's. I think at $147 per tire you got a good deal.

Yep, I noticed it rubs just a tiny bit when you steer all the way to the right, but it's very minimal...

thats strange.... what is the specd diameter/width compared to stock/ If it is the fenderliner that is a quick fix

Yes, it's the plastic fender liner... The part that bulges out a bit.. What do you suggest I do for a fix?

Depends on where you drive. If you want to drive in Quebec between October and April, and not get a ticket, you need the symbol. Even if your "French" is good, arguing with a Surete du Quebec officer roadside at 10 below is a lose-lose proposition.

On the flip side, if you don't have an alignment on the same bill of sale as the tire, or an alignment within a month either way, you're going to have a fun time arguing for your mileage warranty if you care about that sort of thing. Just sayin'
