Well the price is right! Why not ask about the diff lock? Perhaps they can shoot a few more pics of that, interior and underneath back to front and so forth.

When I see what looks like a ton of rust on the bumpers and tailgate I wonder what kind of interesting you'll find underneath. I'm also trying to figure out what's going on with the plate surround and rear wiper.

But, I could be totally wrong.

I agree.

This truck looks neglected to me. How can they even say they know the truck runs good yet not know if the a/c and heater work? Also, if you have to add that the truck had an oil change as a reason to buy the truck...oil changes must not be a routine thing to them.

Hell they even admit the vehicle condition is "fair".

If it were me I would pass.

After a careful CL translation, I think they're not sure if it needs a new suspension. Then they state the ac and heater works.

At 200K miles, it almost certainly needs a 'new suspension', i.e. shocks all the way around. It sure looks like a very neglected and abused truck. Probably has all sorts of needed maintenance. TB, WP, LBJ, shocks, tires, brakes, etc, etc. But it's a 4Runner so it's still running.

Sometimes saving money costs you more. I'd have to think this is one of those cases.

We looked at a $1000 third gen here in St. Louis once that wasn't worth $1000. Every single fluid we looked at was either too low to check or low and dirty. Cat had been cut out. Both diffs were grenaded. 4 or 5 different shades of red and rust on the outside, filthy and tattered inside. Cheap isn't always a bargain.

I think that if the frame has no rust ID get it. You're probably going to be replacing much of the suspension already.

New bumpers are cheap. Maintenance is cheap too. How ever, I just don't think the frame won't have rust. Worth looking at....

Just had a look at it. Rust everywhere. No diff lock too.

I informed the seller I'll buy it as parts truck (no more then $500). Got good tires though!

Will contact them in about a week to see their decision. Yeah, who would mention an oil change for a CL ad.

looking at car fax service records... only one record the rest emmissions

65k transmission serviced... ususally it would say 'flushed' but I don't think so in this truck

it's a been a ohio truck it's whole life.
