What Does Your Dealership Charge for A Transmission Fluid Flush?

Got it. To each their own. Personally, the trans is to valuable to the life of the vehicle to use anything other than oem spec fluid. That's a personal preference.

Valvoline maxlife ATF is totally fine, if anything it exceeds the spec... but I agree, you should buy what gives you the warm and fuzzy. I have bought OEM in the past just to sleep better at night before I knew any better.

It should be noted that Toyota doesn't even make their own fluid... and if you go to the dealer for a flush, sometimes what goes in is whatever the flavor of the month is, from a 55 gallon drum from the lowest bidder. That's just how they roll.

I use Toyota Type-IV in my 4 Speed, You can buy OEM but it should be noted that its just Mobile ATF 3309 for anyone shopping around. Generally around the same price anyways.

Last time I brought in my own non-oem fluids for my front & rear diff and transfer case the service adviser ended up telling me we use the exact same thing. And I got that for free from a friend that works at a GM dealership... Some MOC brand or whatever it was.

Even the service departments don't carry the Toyota branded OEM Genuine Gear Oil. Could not get it even if I wanted it, but it does exist.

Been running it in both my rigs with no issues. Research I've done point toward the maxlife being a superior product anyway. But whatever makes you happy. Running long and strong and having cash in my pocket is the way I roll.

Choose the amazon seller if that page is showing a different price. Right now it's out of stock and showing that it will ship in 1-2 months but it's a great price for the oil. Limit of 10 but I got 14 out of two accounts.

I use Valvoline maxlife ATF (WS compliant). you can get it at Walmart for $17 a gallon.

FYI, some Wal-Mart's stopped carrying Maxlife ATF. Big thread over at BITOG regarding some sort of fall out. Still available at most parts stores, but not at Wal-Mart's discount pricing.

My Walmart quit carrying. but the website still has it. I had it delivered. 2 days free shipping.

$100 Bucks at Toyota World of Newton in NJ. At that price, I do it every year.
