what does your username stand for?

Contrary to what some may think. mine has nothing to do with hunting large animals (although I wouldn't mind that, just haven't done it yet). I lived most of my life in Ohio, and am a diehard Buckeye fan, so one of the nicknames for such a fan is to call them a "Bucknut". I don't remember what the other part is for...

my last name is taylor and the zorz suffix is kinda common in the internet community i guess. couple years ago i had a friend who was a huge MMO nerd and he always called me tayzorz. Stuck i guess.

Guess mine is pretty self explanatory also. Its mainly the wifey's DD so can't do much at the moment. Got the Gobi on and when the tires wear out the lift and knobbies will go on but for now its a tamerunner.

My first car was a BMW (now before you go and say spoiled brat...it was a 1985 735i bought at an auction for $2K...it was a pile) ever since then I have been a big BMW fan and one of my favorite BMW's is the 2002. Since the BMW forum I first signed up for "bimmer2002" was taken, I just took the "e" out of it and so I use that name for all other forums.

Mine is because the 4R I have started out as my Dad's who my kids call Opa. He had this in Montana and had put about 75k miles (yes 75k) of unpaved miles on it between Montana, Utah (incl Moab), Oregon, California, and Washington St. Last labor day my father suffered a severe stroke and has not been able to drive since then. I was with him for some of his off road excursions and he decided to give me the truck so I can take my kids on adventures with it. Hence OpasToy. On a great note, today (Fathers Day) was the first day since the stroke that he has had feeling in his left side. He saw my newly installed lift and brush guard and said he wished it was like that when he had it.

the second half of mine (04sr5) is pretty self explanatory, but the wnelax is because i played lacrosse (lax) for western new england university (wne)

Eh, its simple really...

If I ever get off my normally exhausted, severely depressed, often overworked, very underpaid, under appreciated, single, apathetic, and constantly self-doubting (a short selection of a much larger list in my head) ass to make a company for the swirling storm of ideas I have in my head... I'd probably name it that...

Or maybe that's the company that runs the Shadow Government... I forget which one...

Mine pretty much means that I've been broke ever since I bought my truck.

I visit the junkyards a lot and browse the web in search of interesting things to buy for it.

There was this hot, thick chick I used to date in College who was into outdoor sports who nicknamed herself "Land Cruiser" because she was short, stout, and had all terrain capabilities with a comfortable no-nonsense ride. Think of a sporty Christina Hendricks.

She dumped me because she couldn't turn me liberal.

This screen name is in honor of my old flame.

...or is it?

My best friend in high school used to give me a lot of sh!t and tell me I was cheap in order to talk me into spending money on frivolous things... So when we were seniors he was taking French, one day we're sitting around and he starts calling me gaterose in a weird italian accent, he was horrible with impressions and accents.. tells me it's French for cheap.

He got some other friends into it and it stuck for a while, those friends still refer to me by it although most of us rarely talk. No one outside of the internet knows me by it and my license plate befuddles most friends and family.

Years later the interwebz would reveal to me that gaterose is in fact not French for cheap... or French at all... or even a word... in any language. So I use it for usernames as it's never taken.

And it's pronounced gator-ose (as in 'wow that was close' not 'close the door')

When signing up, I thought mine would be simple; LINY (Long Island, New York) and then something about a truck or something...
but I still get people calling me "linney"

About 10 years ago when signing up for a forum I could NOT freaking think of a username. So I went with an internet anonymizer.

It came up with "Kung Pao Smurf."

I used that for the longest time until it just got to be a pain in the butt; so I shortened it to "Kung."

That's it.

CookieRoe

Cookie: In 8th grade, my algebra teacher starting calling me CookieRojas after a cuban baseball player. He apparently played in the 1970s in the majors. I have the same last name.

Roe: Shortening of my last name.

That's it.

Makes me wonder, I know it's a dumb question, when some of you guys get together for an offroad event, do you guys call each other by your "screen name" or real name?
