What else should I replace during a timing belt change?

Here are my notes from that adventure..
11/21/19
Replaced the timing belt, crankshaft seal, both camshaft seals, water pump, thermostat, both idlers, tensioner, all 3 accessory belts (Ebay Kits, lots of different options, Actual OEM parts. I also replaced the valve cover gaskets, half moons, rear cam plugs, spark plug tube seals, Denso spark plugs, plug wires, and all other gaskets that go with taking the intake off. Also cleaned the MAF, throttle body and IAC and checked the valve clearances while I had the covers off (3 exhaust were just on the loose side, everything else was within spec).

Timing belt, pulley, tensioner, water pump, and thermostat at a bare minimum. I would also replace the drive belts since you will have to remove them anyways. If the camshaft or crankshaft seals are leaking or starting to leak now would be a good time to them as well. I chose to flush my cooling system before replacing the water pump because the coolant age and condition was unknown. I also chose to replace my radiator for the same reason.

pulleys, very. if those fail, it'll look like the TB failed when in actuality it would have been just fine had one only done the pulleys. friend's golf did just that and ruined the thing. at first they looked at the carnage from the TB flapping all around, then looked more carefully and realized that at least one pulley had seized up.

Most timing belt kits replace all the important stuff on the front of the engine but the fan mount.
My kit had new belts, thermostat, cam and crank seals, tensioner, water pump, timing belt pulleys.........etc.

my last one I did the fan mount, the fan clutch, the a/c tensioner, new upper and lower hoses and new brushes in alternator....as well as all the good stuff mentioned in other posts.
My upcoming one I will do all that plus radiator and might do the oil cooler hoses too, but they are such a pain in the arse to get to with my big hands, but those are 20 years old too and sitting just below exhaust manifold I assume they see some pretty high heat/cool cycles.
there is another thread I just "refreshed" on ..........what other hoses should I replace....very helpful on hoses...and as said in thread....ck your year and vin to make sure these are the right numbers. But pictures give som egood ideas on hose and locations
