dont waste your time or money with the ****tybuilt seat covers mine rippe out within a few months, sure they look cool, but thats about all they have going for them.
survival gear for me is my xd 40 and 6 mags, and my sig 556 and 4 mags

Just out of curiosity, is there any laws against having knives in your car? I have a few, no guns though. I know in NC they have a stupid law that if you have a baseball bat, you have to have a glove and a mitt. Does anyone else let an LEO know immediately when they are pulled that they have a knife in the car? Or is that something I should do?

If it's legal, I wouldn't, unless it's something that can potentially be an immediate hazard to the officer. That said, even if it doesn't pose a hazard (it's locked in the cargo area, etc.), he or she will probably appreciate the fact that you mentioned it. I know I'm always grateful when someone tells me they're armed in some way.
But it's best to find out beforehand what's legal and what isn't in your state - or better yet - in states you may be traveling in/through.

Not a sat phone but I do keep a garmin inreach in the center console.
That would make me nervous thinking about somebody breaking into my runner and stealing it with it or a case for it in plain view. A handgun in a console vault would be a better option I would think or if you think you must have a long gun, lockable storage drawers would be better bet for that. I do have the panels, have other things strapped to them, really like them and find them handy though.

Yes though I've rarely used it -- buy enough minutes for emergency use only, but it goes nearly everywhere I happen to go.

I carry enough to get home to the wife. 3 days of food and water. A Get home bag with fire and shelter, and cooking and survival items, hiking boots and clothes for several weather conditions, and a box of ammo for each of my main carry pistols. Also have a tool kit, jumper cables, and a tow strap. And I have a compound bow with a half dozen arrows. I have it all crammed under the rear floor of my Versa. I figured if the big one hit whiles I’m at work I have a crazy 50 mile walk home.

Similar set up here. If situation allowed me to stay with my vehicle I'd have some additional items. But a bag stays packed that I could grab and then bolt. Water, food, shelter, fire, first aid, rain gear (Florida) lights, knives, etc. Weapon will already be on my person. Just too much craziness in this world.
Had a real eye opener last year. Stopped to help a motorist who hit a deer on a rural road. It was a two car caravan. Seven total people. They were on their way back to GA after evacuating for a hurricane. When I got to them, they were trying to assess the damage on their car with the lights on their cell phones. They fled a hurricane, not knowing what level of disaster they would find when they got back home, and between two vehicles and seven people not a single flashlight to be found. Let that sink in.

I keep certain things in the truck just cuz (e.g., hatchet, tie downs, paracord, etc). They're there just so I don't have to pack them when I camp. What I do intend on taking with me is a sort of go bag with enough to get me home if I'm stuck at work when some event hits. At least a gallon of water, two freeze-dried packs of food, some snack bars, couple of knives, hiking shoes, a couple of shirts, battery pack, maps covering the area between work and home, some other stuff. The rest in the car I would browse through to see what I can carry before possibly having to abandon it.
